What You’ll Need
Single Pressure Washer Setup:
-
Snow Cannon Fan Gun (with nozzle pack)
-
Fan Gun Stand
-
Low-Pressure Water Filter
-
Standard Garden Hose
-
Pressure Washer or High-Pressure Pump (any GPM rating between 1–15)
-
Air Compressor (minimum 5 CFM @ 90 PSI)
-
10′ Air Hose (longer hoses may reduce performance) – Learn More
-
Extension cords for the compressor and pressure washer(s)
Multi-Pressure Washer Setup (Train System):
-
All items above, plus:
-
Garden Hose Splitter and Leader Hoses
-
High-Pressure Manifold
-
Multiple Pressure Washers and PW Hoses
-
Separate power outlets (different breakers) for each pressure washer
1. Insert the Proper Nozzles
Before heading outside:
-
Find your pressure washer’s GPM rating (or add them up if using multiple washers)
-
Use the Nozzle Chart to select the correct nozzles
-
Wrap each nozzle thread with Teflon tape and tighten them firmly into the fan gun nozzle bar
-
Ensure all nozzles are leak-free and properly sealed
2. Position the Fan Gun and Equipment
Place your Snow Cannon Fan Gun where you want to make snow. Make sure your garden hose, pressure washer(s), and air hose can all reach comfortably. The ideal setup is to place the air compressor and pressure washer(s) on the cart behind the fan.
3. Connect the Water Line
Single Washer Setup:
-
Connect your garden hose to a water source, then to the low-pressure filter, and into the pressure washer
-
Connect the pressure washer hose to the pressure washer, then to the fan gun water inlet on the back of the fan (add a pressure gauge if desired before the fan gun inlet)
Multi-Train Setup:
-
Use a garden hose splitter and leader hoses to feed water to multiple pressure washers
-
Connect the pressure washer hoses to the output of each washer, then to a High-Pressure Manifold
-
Run a single hose from the manifold to the fan gun
-
Insert a pressure gauge before the fan gun for monitoring the water pressure
-
Be sure to plug each pressure washer into a separate circuit breaker to prevent overloads
4. Position the Air Compressor
Place the air compressor close enough so the air hose reaches, but not directly in the snow zone. Plug it into a power source using a dedicated extension cord. The most ideal location is on the cart directly below the fan gun.
5. Turn on Water and Pressure Washer(s)
-
Turn the water ON at the spigot
-
If using a train system, open all valves on your hose splitter to ensure water flows to all pressure washers
-
You should see:
-
Spray from the top misting nozzles
-
A steady stream from the bottom nucleation nozzle
-
-
Turn on the pressure washer(s) one at a time (if applicable)
-
You should see increased pressure and stronger spray from the fan gun nozzles
6. Connect Air Hose & Turn On Air Compressor
Once water is flowing:
-
Connect the air hose to the fan gun and compressor
-
Turn on the air compressor
After 2–4 minutes, air pressure will regulate and begin mixing evenly at the bottom nozzle. Look for a fine mist and a steady stream of air/water mix.
- Target operating pressure: 60–100 PSI
7. Watch the Snow Build! ❄️
If the temperature and humidity are within snowmaking range, you’ll begin producing real snow within minutes. The Snow Cannon Fan Gun can produce 1–15 inches of snow per hour, depending on water flow and weather conditions.
