One of the easiest ways to increase the snowmaking capacity of your backyard system is to use multiple pressure washers together. Instead of investing in one large, expensive pressure washer, you can combine several smaller machines to increase the total GPM flowing through your snow gun.
How Does a Pressure Washer Train Work?
Each pressure washer supplies water to a high-pressure manifold, where the individual water flows are combined before entering the snow gun. This allows multiple smaller pressure washers to work together as one higher-flow system.
Because GPM directly affects snow production, combining pressure washers can significantly increase the amount of snow your system can produce. As a general rule, 1 GPM produces approximately 1 inch of snow per hour when conditions are right, so increasing your total GPM increases your potential snow output.
Why Use Multiple Pressure Washers?
For many homeowners, a train system is a more practical way to build a high-output snowmaking system.
Large commercial pressure washers capable of producing more than 2–3 GPM can become expensive and may require 220V power. Smaller electric pressure washers are generally easier to find and can run from standard household outlets.
A train system also gives you the flexibility to build your snowmaking system over time. You can start with one or two pressure washers and add more later as you want to increase your snowmaking capacity.
Another advantage is flexibility. With multiple pressure washers, you don't always have to run the entire system. You can choose to run one, two, three, or four pressure washers depending on how much snow you want to make.
Backyard Snowstorm Train Packages
We make building a multi-pressure-washer system easier with our Train Packages. These packages include the specialized components needed to combine the water from multiple pressure washers and deliver it to your snow gun.
We offer train packages designed specifically for the Forecaster and Cold Front, as well as expansion packages that allow you to add additional pressure washers to an existing setup.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind
Using multiple pressure washers does require more hoses, fittings, and setup, but the process is straightforward when you have the proper equipment.
If you're using multiple electric pressure washers, you'll also need to pay attention to your home's electrical circuits. Running several machines from the same circuit can trip the breaker, so the pressure washers should be distributed across separate circuits as needed.
For homeowners who want to make more snow without immediately investing in a large commercial pressure washer, a train system offers a practical way to start smaller and build a higher-output snowmaking system over time.
