What You’ll Need

Single Pressure Washer Setup:

  • Forecaster Snow Gun (with nozzle pack)

  • Snow Gun Stand

  • Low-Pressure Water Filter

  • Standard Garden Hose

  • Pressure Washer (any GPM between 1-6)

  • Air Compressor (minimum 5 CFM @ 90 PSI)

  • 10′ Air Hose (longer hoses may reduce performance) – Learn More

  • Extension cords for the compressor and pressure washer

Multi-Pressure Washer Setup (Train System):

  • All items above, plus:

  • Garden Hose Splitter and Leader Hoses

  • High-Pressure Manifold

  • Multiple Pressure Washers and PW Hoses

  • Separate power outlets for each pressure washer

1. Insert the Proper Nozzles

Before heading outside, determine the GPM rating of your pressure washer(s).

  • Use the Nozzle Chart to select the correct misting nozzles.

  • Wrap each nozzle thread with Teflon tape and tighten firmly into the snow gun head to prevent leaks.

  • For multi-washer setups, add the GPM of each pressure washer together and select nozzles based on the total flow rate.

2. Position the Snow Gun and Stand

Set up the Forecaster on its stand where you want to make snow.
Ensure your garden hose, pressure washer(s), and air hose can comfortably reach the setup.

3. Connect the Water Line

Single Washer Setup:

  • Connect one end of the garden hose to your spigot, and the other to the low-pressure water filter and into the pressure washer.

  • Connect your pressure washer hose to the washer and then to the Forecaster inlet.

  • If using a pressure gauge, install it just before the snow gun.

Multi-Train Setup:

  • Connect your garden hose to a splitter, and attach leader hoses to each pressure washer.

  • Connect pressure washer hoses to each washer’s output, then to a High-Pressure Manifold, and run a final hose from the manifold to the snow gun.

  • Insert your pressure gauge before the snow gun inlet.

  • Make sure all valves on the garden splitter are open to allow full water flow.

4. Position the Air Compressor

Place your air compressor close enough that the air hose reaches the snow gun, but not directly in the snow’s path.
Plug it into a reliable power source using an extension cord.

5. Turn on Water and Pressure Washer(s)

  • Turn the water ON at the spigot.

  • You should see water flowing through the hoses and out of the snow gun:

    • Top misting nozzles should spray water

    • Bottom nucleation nozzle should produce a small, steady stream

  • Turn ON your pressure washer (or one at a time if using multiple).

  • You’ll see increased water pressure and stronger flow from the nozzles.

  • If your washer has an unloader valve, start it in the unloaded position.

6. Connect Air Hose & Turn On Air Compressor

Once water is flowing:

  1. Plug the air hose into the snow gun and compressor

  2. Turn on the air compressor

As the tank regulates over 2–4 minutes, the nucleation nozzle will begin mixing air and water evenly.

  • Aim for an operating outlet air pressure of 60+ PSI

7. Watch the Snow Build!

If the temperature and humidity are within range, you’ll begin to see real snow falling within minutes. The Forecaster is capable of producing 1–6 inches of snow per hour, depending on your pressure washer’s GPM and weather conditions.
